Expungement

Florida state law allows for some individuals to expunge a criminal arrest once in their lifetime, which means that the actual record of their crime is destroyed and will not be discoverable in background searches. Only one record will exist and it will be kept by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). Not everyone will qualify to have their record expunged, however.
